More information is coming out about the customer reportedly caught on security cameras groping a waitress at a Georgia restaurant.
Ryan Cherwinski, 31, of Palm Bay, Florida, was arrested June 30 at Vinni Van Go-Go’s in downtown Savannah. Cherwinski is allegedly the man seen walking behind a waitress and touching her buttocks before the waitress confronts him and takes him to the ground.
The Daily Mail reported that Cherwinski is the father to twin daughters and has a long-term girlfriend. The Mail and a post on Reddit, where the video was originally uploaded, suggested that the family was at the Georgia restaurant when Cherwinski was arrested on sexual battery charges.
The waitress seen in the video, Emelia Holden, 21, told People that she had just finished an order when she felt someone touch her backside. As the video shows, she grabbed the customer and forcefully pushed him away from her, to the point where he lost his balance.
“I looked at him and I said, ‘You don’t touch me, motherf****r!’ ” she said. “I didn’t even think, I just reacted. I don’t know how I reacted the way I did. I’ve never done that before.”
Holden also told WTOC that the restaurant supported her response. The manager told police they witnessed what transpired and supplied them with the now-viral surveillance footage. Cherwinski reportedly told officers that he didn’t mean to touch the waitress and that he was only trying to get her to move out of his way.
“I got what I wanted when they put him in handcuffs,” she said of Cherwinski. “Best wishes to your daughters.”
