An Arkansas woman was arrested this weekend on suspicion of fatally shooting her husband during an argument at their home in Jefferson County.
According to KLRT, 69-year-old Patricia Hill told authorities that she shot her husband in the face on Saturday afternoon because she was upset over the amount of pornography he had ordered through a television subscription service.
Reports indicate she initially called 911 shortly after 2:30 p.m. to tell dispatchers that she shot 65-year-old Frank Hill.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office investigators were dispatched to the scene and found the victim’s body in a shed on the property, according to police reports. An initial examination revealed Frank Hill had been shot twice.
Further investigation and questioning of the suspect led authorities to arrive at a suspected motive.
According to a statement by Major Lafayette Woods, Patricia Hill said she cancelled the television service and went to the backyard shed to tell her husband to leave the home. He refused, the suspect added, and she retrieved a gun from inside the residence and went back outside to shoot him.
“Immediately following the shooting, Mrs. Hill stated that she returned inside the residence, where she returned the weapon and called 911 to report the shooting,” Woods said.
The suspect also reportedly confirmed there was no history of physical violence in the relationship.
Patricia Hill was arrested and booked into the W.C. “Dub” Brassell Adult Detention Center. She is expected to face charges including capital murder, according to KFSM.
As of the latest reports available, she was being held without bond ahead of an initial court appearance.
