Authorities in Pennsylvania say a pair of babysitters are responsible for abusing a 7-year-old boy and 9-year-old girl during a six-day period last month.
According to Fox News, authorities arrested 22-year-old Jakayo Scott Frye and 22-year-old Shyann Marie Hills, both of Towanda, on suspicion of several criminal counts including aggravated assault, false imprisonment, unlawful restraint, simple assault, terroristic threats, endangering the welfare of a child, corruption of minors and reckless endangerment of another person.
Police reports detail an array of cruel acts investigators say the children were subjected to after their mother dropped them off with the suspects to stay in their care for a week.
Frye and Hills allegedly beat the children with their fists and foreign objects.
The siblings were also deprived of food, water and sleep during their traumatic stay with the suspects, according to police.
More directly violent abuse included tying the children to a dog cage and cabinets with belts, police claim.
“The children were forced into a plank position with nails in the upright position under them so if they fell the nails would stick into them,” a police statement revealed.
They were also allegedly forced to “drink their own urine off the floor.”
Following the suspects’ arrest, the two children were reportedly transported to an area hospital. Their condition was not immediately clear from available reports.
