On Tuesday night, the Denver Police Department announced they found the body of a missing 7-year-old Colorado boy who vanished Monday afternoon.
The Denver Channel reports that authorities found 7-year-old Jordan Vong on Tuesday evening, after the FBI joined local authorities in search of the boy. Although Denver Police Chief Paul Pazen confirmed the death, he declined to say where investigators located the boy and what led them to area he was found. A family member reported Jordan missing on Monday afternoon, several hours after he disappeared.
Pazen, however, made the announcement after authorities obtained a warrant and searched the family’s home off of the 4900 block of Fairplay Street in Denver’s Montbello neighborhood. Witnesses saw investigators taking photos of the outside of the family home and other investigators walking inside the home with gloves on.
Pazen indicated it was still to early too determine how the little boy died.
“Anytime a young person passes, it’s a tragedy,” Pazen said, according to FOX Denver. “When a 7-year-old passes, that’s something that hurts our hearts, not only in law enforcement but the community in general.”
