A San Antonio Police Department spokesperson said officers did a thorough search of the area and didn’t find any traces of Lana. Her parents said she left her cellphone behind and didn’t have any belongings with her when she vanished.
KENS 5 reports that Lana’s father, Benjamin Martinez, said that Lana didn’t make it completely down the stairs with the trash after she left the family’s second-floor apartment. Her little brother and cousin were playing video games when Lana left. When the children realized she hadn’t returned after a while, they walked around the complex looking for Lana but couldn’t find her.
“They realized she’d been gone to look so they went all the way around the block and around the apartments,” Martinez said.
According to police, a few people called in with possible sightings of Lana in the Thousands Oak/Wetmore area of San Antonio’s Northeast side. The callers said they saw someone who matched Lana’s description with a white male in his 60’s. Police have not confirmed whether they’ve found the man for questioning.
Lana stands 4-feet-10-inches tall and weighs around 125 pounds. She has long brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing dark shorts and a red tank top.
Anyone with any information on Lana’s whereabouts should contact SAPD’s Missing Persons Unit at 210-207-7660.
