The mother of a missing 4-month-old baby has been charged is facing multiple felony charges after remains were found near her home.
WNYT reports that Heaven Puleski, who was taken into custody last week for questioning, has been charged with concealment of a human corpse, tampering with physical evidence, and endangering the welfare of a child.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, investigators searching for Heaven’s four-month-old baby, Rayen Puleski, found human remains near Puleski’s home in Schenectedy, New York, last Thursday. Responding to a call from CPS requesting a welfare check, police searching for the mother and child found Heaven at a Days Inn the day before, and took her in for questioning.
Police reportedly charged Puleski with the multiple felonies based on statements she made. A police source told The Daily Gazette that the mother’s statements have led authorities to presume the remains found belong to Rayen, though the remains are still pending identification.
Schenectady Police told WNYT that the identification process could take a significant amount of time due to the condition of the remains.
