A Tennessee hospital security guard was arrested after witnesses told authorities they saw him having sex with a corpse at the facility on Wednesday, WREG reports.

Memphis police subsequently charged Cameron Wright, 23, on Thursday with abuse of a corpse.

Two witnesses alerted police after they reportedly saw Wright having sexual relations with a female corpse in a storage room of St. Francis Hospital, according to authorities.

Court documents obtained by WREG indicate that Wright confessed to the crime.

St. Francis Hospital confirmed via a statement that the suspect, who worked as a contractor for U.S. Security Associates, has been terminated by the company.

“Treating those we serve with dignity and respect is our top priority. The behavior of this individual does not represent what our hospital stands for, and these actions are completely unacceptable. We are saddened by this incident, and we are empathetic to the family of the patient.”
