In an exclusive interview with DailyMailTV, Asia Argento spoke about her life since her boyfriend Anthony Bourdain’s suicide in June. The TV personality and celebrity chef had been dating the Italian actress and director for two years before he took he took his own life this summer in a French hotel.
The two-part interview will air on DailyMailTV on Monday and Tuesday, and Daily Mail shared a preview clip seen below:
In the clip, the actress talked about her evolving emotions since Bourdain’s June suicide.
“The anger kept me alive because otherwise this desperation has no end, there’s no end,’ Argento said.
“And then I was angry, yes, for abandoning my kids, but now it’s been replaced, just by this loss, this hole, that cannot be replaced by anything.”
Argento has been one of the most outspoken advocates of the #MeToo movement, which Bourdain also vocally supported. She is among the dozens of women who have accused producer Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault.
But in August, the New York Times reported on allegations that Argento had sexually abused a former child co-star in a movie she had a directed, having sexual intercourse with the boy when he was only 17. Argento later denied the allegations but admitted that Bourdain had paid her accuser, James Bennett, a nearly $400,000 settlement in order to protect their privacy.
