Good Samaritan finds baby boy CRAWLING across busy road BY HIMSELF: Report

New Jersey police are investigating after a baby boy was found to be crawling across a busy road by himself Saturday night.

ABC6 reports that a driver, identified as 41-year-old Cory Cannon, told police that when he first saw the boy crawling by himself along Joe Parker Road, in Lakewood, he initially believed the baby to be a toy. When he noticed the child moving, the Good Samaritan promptly exited his car to stop traffic and help the little boy.

A nearby resident then reportedly approached Cannon and brought the baby back to his family. Cannon, who is also a father, proceeded to take photos at the scene to give to authorities in order to corroborate what he said he witnessed.

Upon further investigation, officials said the baby “may have left the home through a door that was left unsecured by an older sibling.”

Police say they are still investigating the case, along with the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency.
