Authorities in Minnesota are asking for the public’s help in locating a mother and five children—three of whom were reportedly last seen being taken from a Rose Creek home Saturday.
According to the West Central Tribune, the Mower County Sheriff’s Office is working to locate Mateo Cooley, 10, Mollycia Cooley, 11, and Morgan Cooley, 16, who they believe was taken from their home by their mother, Izetta Cooley, 39, despite being barred from contacting them per court order.
Authorities said the woman’s two other children, Mojo Cooley, 13, and Marco Cooley, 17, haven’t been accounted for and it’s possible they’re traveling with them.
Police indicated that another sibling who was initially reported missing, Maryssa Cooley, 15, has been found safe. Details surrounding her discovery are unavailable at this time.
The outlet noted that the children’s father, Miguel Cooley Sr., 44, is currently in custody for shooting a man dead outside a Fargo McDonalds on September 23. Inforum reported that prosecutors believe Miguel shot and killed Gabriel Perez, 20, after the victim’s uncle found a phone number in his room belonging to Miguel’s wife, Isabella.
Authorities believe they’re traveling in a black 2007 Suzuki XL7 with Minnesota license plate 103WJC. WDIO reported that the Cooleys may still be in Minnesota but could be headed to South or North Dakota.
Izetta is described as 5-feet, 4-inches tall, weighing approximately 180 pounds, and having brown eyes and brown hair. It’s not immediately known why she was barred from contacting her children.
KDLT reported that photos of the other children are unavailable at this time.
This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information regarding the Cooleys’ whereabouts is urged to call the Mower County Sheriff’s Office at 507-437-9400.
