An Ohio high school teacher allegedly confessed to having sex with a student who she reportedly said “looked and acted” like her ex-husband.
New York Post reports that 32-year-old Laura Bucy, a home economics teacher at Twinsburg High School in Twinsburg, is accused of “sexual battery and disseminating matter harmful to juveniles” after police said she had sex with a male student at the school. According to police, Bucy admitted the incident by “confessing her sins” to her former husband’s father on August 2, months after it happened.
According to the police report, Bucy also made numerous “incoherent statements” to her former father-in-law and asked for forgiveness. She then allegedly drove away from his home to Interstate 71, where she parked her car in the middle of the road and walked away.
In September, investigators interviewed the ex-husband, who reportedly told them about the confession incident between Bucy and his father. Later that month, authorities interviewed Bucy, who confessed, according to police, and admitted she had a “very strong connection” with the student, and bought him vape juice and marijuana.
Authorities stated Bucy said she had sex with the student one time only, inside a pantry closet at the school around February or March. She later sent him a “compromising video and photo” on Snapchat.
Investigators spoke to the teen, who claimed that Bucy’s versions of events were correct. However, he said he had sex with the teacher in December, not February or March. The teen said he never told anyone because he didn’t want the teacher to get in trouble.
Bucy was booked into the Summit County Jail but later released on $50,000 bail. Her next court appearance is scheduled for October 4 at 9:30 a.m.
