A newborn baby has been hospitalized with serious injuries after the infant was allegedly raped.
BBC reports that the infant from the Annalong area of County Down in Ireland is in intensive care at a Belfast hospital after the baby was allegedly raped on September 29.
Investigators from the Police Service of Norther Ireland’s Serious Crime Branch charged a 25-year-old man with rape and grievous bodily harm with intent.
The unidentified suspect is reportedly in custody at Maghaberry prison.
The infant is reportedly being treated at the paediatric unit of the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children.
