Authorities are searching for a Missouri boy who disappeared from the St. Louis County area on Sunday afternoon, while in the care of his babysitter.
CBS reports that St. Louis authorities issued an Endangered Person Advisory for Shamond Evans, a 3-year-old boy last seen with his babysitter, Craig J. Jacob, 57. According to police, Shamond’s parents met Jacob at a St. Louis County gas Station off of 5215 Lucas and Hunt at around 2:30 p.m. They dropped the boy off with Jacob, who was supposed to babysit him for the day.
Shamond’s parents said Jacob was set to watch the boy for around three hours and return him at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, yet never showed up. On Monday morning, authorities located Jacob in his home but the little boy wasn’t with him. Jacob reportedly said Shamond could possibly be with Linda Davis, 59, though it’s unclear why she would have disappeared with the boy.
A courthouse sources told the St. Louis Dispatch that Jacob and Davis are still considered the child’s co-guardians after he was previously taken away from his mother. However, the boy was apparently in the care of his parents when they dropped him off, and they expected him to be returned. As authorities continue to solve the puzzle, they indicated Davis may be headed out of town.
Shamond is described as a black male who stands 3-feet tall, with brown eyes and black hair. He was last seen wearing red pants, black shoes, and a light blue Tommy Hilfigger shirt. Davis is described a white female standing 5-feet-4-inches tall, weighing around 130 pounds. She drives a 2006 Cadillac DeVille with the Missouri license plate number, DN1Z4V.
Anyone with any information is urged to call 911 or the St. Louis County Police Department at 636-529-8210.
