Authorities in Louisiana have made three arrests following the discovery of a man’s body over the weekend.
According to the Lafayette Daily Advertiser, the remains were found Saturday morning on a levee near North Henderson Road in Henderson.
Mayor Ginny Higgins told reporters that the body, identified as 38-year-old Brocky McGee, was a local man who died of apparent gunshot wounds.
After the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office received a call revealing the location of a white male’s body, deputies responded to the location at around 1 a.m. and confirmed the discovery.
Evidence led detectives to identify three suspects in the case: 22-year-old Howard L. Gautreaux Jr. and Morgan Landry, both of Breaux Bridge, and 18-year-old DeCota McGee of Henderson.
Police reports indicate Gautreaux is expected to face criminal charges including second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The latter two suspects are expected to be charged with accessory to second-degree murder after the fact.
As KLFY reported, all three have reportedly been arrested and booked into St. Martin Parish Correctional Center without bond.
Police say the investigation into this incident remains ongoing.
