Authorities in Kentucky say three individuals were arrested recently on suspicion of killing an Augusta man found dead in his home this week.
According to WKRC, police say the victim’s body was found after an unattended dog was found in the neighborhood.
Officers responded to the scene on Friday and took the animal to the home of 59-year-old James Lydon Gordley. Upon their arrival,authorities discovered the dead man.
A brief investigation led to the identification of three suspects — Arica Woodruff, 29; Dagoberto Ramos, 32; and Nelson Ramos, 27 — and arrested them all on Saturday morning.
They remained behind bars as of the latest reports available and are expected to face criminal charges including murder.
Reports indicate the two male suspects are brothers. Woodruff was described as romantically linked to Dagoberto Ramos.
It was unclear what the suspected motive behind the attack was, but police say additional information is forthcoming.
The investigation into the homicide remained ongoing as of the most recent police statement.
Police noted there was no immediate sign of forced entry into the victim’s residence.
According to the Lexington Herald Leader, the Ramos brothers reside in Seaman, Ohio and Woodruff is from nearby Maysville.
Dagoberto Ramos and Woodruff were booked into Mason County Detention Center and are set to appear in court on Tuesday.
Nelson Ramos was behind bars in Adams County, Ohio, prior to being extradited to Kentucky to face charges in the case.
