Authorities in Washington state say an adult film performer was arrested on suspicion of attempting to hire a hitman to kill an unidentified victim.
According to the New York Post, 31-year-old Katrina Danforth was arrested Wednesday at the Spokane International Airport in connection with a series of conversations investigators believe spanned several weeks between October and November.
Assistant United States Attorney Traci Whelan told the Spokesman Review that the victim, referred to as “H.R.” in court documents, lives in Idaho and was not actually harmed during the commission of the alleged crime.
Danforth, known professionally as Lynn Passion and Lynn Pleasant, is accused of making a series of phone communications as well as one mail correspondence between October 20 and November 10, each in an effort to find someone to carry out a murder for hire.
Though she publicly announced her retirement from pornography, she recently confirmed via social media that she continued to solicit phone sex customers.
In a post-arrest interview with KHQ, Danforth said she didn’t “really know, precisely” why U.S. Marshals had handcuffed her.
She appeared in court later the same day and told U.S. Magistrate Judge John Rodgers that she was unable to afford legal representation.
As of the latest reports available, she was still behind bars at the Spokane County Jail with another court date set for Friday.
If convicted, she could spend 10 years in prison and face a $250,000 fine for each of the five criminal counts of commission of murder for hire being pursued against her.
