Authorities announced a tragic development in the search for Iowa teen Corey Brown.
Brown, 13, went missing on Tuesday night after an argument with his parents, which authorities described as a “normal parental discussion.” He was seen on surveillance camera footage leaving his Marshalltown home after 11 p.m. that night, and his parents reported him missing when they discovered he was gone early the next morning, prompting a large-scale search and concerns about his well-being in freezing temperatures and snow.
On Sunday, Marshalltown Police announced that the boy had been found dead, as reported by KCCI 8.
“The Marshalltown Police Department regretfully reports that Corey Brown, age 13, was found deceased today,” the police said in a statement. “His body was located this morning at approximately 10:45 a.m. in a secluded area on the west side of Marshalltown.”
Authorities have not disclosed any further details about the circumstances of his death.
