The former boyfriend of the young woman found murdered in a suitcase in Greenwich, Connecticut, has been arrested in connection with her disappearance and death.
LoHud.com reports that New Rochelle police have arrested Javier DeSilva, the former boyfriend of Valerie Reyes. Greenwich Police reportedly announced the arrest, stating that DeSilva is suspected of being involved in her death and also fraudulently using her bank card.
Reyes, 24, disappeared on January 29 from her home in New Rochelle, New York. Her family reportedly hired a private investigator shortly after Reyes disappeared. Her mother, Norma Sanchez, told LoHud.com last week that the investigator traced Reyes to Manhattan, where she was reportedly seen on surveillance camera at an ATM location. Her card was also used on a separate occasion, according to the report.
Reyes’ body was found in a suitcase along Glenville Road in Greenwich, Connecticut, last Tuesday morning. Authorities have not yet released her cause of death.
