A nurse who was reported missing after being last seen at a casino on her own on Valentine’s Day has been found dead.
The New York Post reports that Brooke Ann Harris was found dead in a car in a church parking lot in El Dorado Valley, where she lived. The cause of death is under investigation but there were no immediate signs of foul play, according to the report.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Harris, a married nurse, was last seen on surveillance camera footage at the Red Hawk Casino in Placerville on February 14. She is believed to have gone to the casino by herself, and had been in contact with her husband by phone earlier in the day.
Police had previously said they did not suspect foul play.
“We have investigated Brooke’s family and have found no evidence to suggest that anyone was involved in her disappearance. The family has been completely cooperative throughout this entire investigation,” the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a Facebook post this week.
Harris had recently had her nursing license reinstated — just a week before she vanished. She had surrendered it in 2016 after she reportedly drank vodka while on the job as a Hospice nurse.
KCRA reports that medical records show Harris had experience some unspecified mental health issues.
Authorities are continuing to investigate. CrimeOnline will provide further updates when more information is available.
