A man previously convicted of stalking pop star Taylor Swift was behind bars again on Thursday after allegedly breaking into the singer’s home.

According to NBC News, 23-year-old Roger Alvarado was released from jail on February 5 following a six-month sentence stemming from his guilty plea on counts including criminal contempt and attempted burglary related to stalking Swift.

Early Thursday morning, he allegedly used a ladder to gain access to a second-story window at the celebrity’s home in Manhattan and broke the glass with a brick.

Swift was not at the residence at the time, according to police reports, and the home was undergoing renovations.

Police arrested him in connection with the latest incident on Thursday and booked him into jail on suspicion of criminal counts including burglary, criminal contempt, criminal mischief, and possessing burglary tools.

The New York Post interviewed Alvarado from behind bars and he said he does not regret his actions and would probably attempt to break into her home again.

“I don’t want to hurt her,” he said. “I just wanted to speak to her, to talk to her. She seems nice [and] cool.”

The singer referenced concern for her safety and her fans in a recent essay.

“I was completely terrified to go on tour this time because I didn’t know how we were going to keep 3 million fans safe over seven months,” she wrote, citing the 2017 bomb threat at an Ariana Grande performance in England.

Swift said her most recent tour took “a tremendous amount of planning, expense, and effort” to protect those who showed up to each show.
