An Alabama woman who was reported missing last week was reportedly found dead Sunday near train tracks.
WABM reported that Crystal Vasquez, 22, was found dead in Bessmer following a six-hour search. Her brother told the station that Vasquez had been reported missing and her family hadn’t been seen in more than a week.
Speaking with AL.com, Bessemer Police Chief Mike Roper confirmed Vasquez’s death is currently unclassified and there was no obvious evidence of foul play. Roper said relatives were searching the area when Vasquez was found, but he was unsure why they were combing that area.
Vasquez was reported missing on March 6. Details surrounding her disappearance are unavailable at this point in time.
An autopsy will be performed Monday to determine a cause and manner of death.
