The Florida mother who drove her 11-year-old daughter’s dead body to a hospital before allegedly pulling a knife on medical staff confessed to fatally stabbing the girl to keep her from having sex.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Rose Alcides Rivera, 28, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder on Sunday after she drove to a hospital in Orlando with her daughter’s body in the car, and allegedly threatened those trying to help with a knife.
ABC News obtained the arrest report, which indicates that Rivera confessed to killing her daughter after initially denying it. Authorities reportedly said the suspect said she attacked the girl “prevent her from having sex.” Earlier in the day on Sunday, she reportedly brought her daughter to an unidentified man’s house and accused him and her daughter of having sex, though witnesses reportedly said the girl denied having sex with that man or anyone.
And the arrests report shows that Rivera did not appear to have any evidence her daughter was in a sexual relationship with the man. CBS News reports that the suspect told authorities that she thought her daughter was sexually active because the “smiled different.”
Following the visit to the man’s house, “Rivera stated she stabbed her daughter while in the car, and while stabbing her she was attempting to make her more comfortable,” the affidavit reportedly reads.
Authorities noted a superficial wound on the suspect, which they reportedly believe was self-inflicted.
Rivera is in custody in Orlando and is being held without bail, according to CBS News.
