Convicted family annihilator Chris Watts is reportedly in suicide watch in a Wisconsin prison where he is serving multiple life sentences for the murder of his pregnant wife Shanann Watts and two young daughters, Bella and Celeste Watts.
Citing an unidentified Wisconsin Department of Corrections source, RadarOnline reports that Watts is under suicide watch.
“Chris Watts is in clinical observation — suicide watch,” the source told RadarOnline. “Guards have to do 15-minute checks, which are recorded.”
The report comes a week after the Colorado Bureau of Investigation released audio and a written transcript of an interview Watts gave investigators in February. In the five-hour interview, obtained by CrimeOnline, Watts shared more details about the murders of his wife and two daughters, revealing for the first time that Bella and Celeste were alive and drove in his truck with him – along with their mother’s dead body — to the oil field where he would bury Shannan and murder her daughters before disposing of their bodies in oil tanks.
He also told investigators that Bella was sitting right next to Celeste when he smothered and strangled the younger girl, and watched him drop her sister’s body into an oil tank before asking if the same thing was going to happen to her. Watts said that Bella’s last words were, “Daddy, no!” before he took her life.
In the interview, Watts also spoke of hearing fellow inmates shout at him to kill himself and suggest how he did do it, but he appeared to have been referring to his time in a Colorado prison, not the facility in Wisconsin where was transferred in December, about a month after he pleaded guilty to murdering his family.
