A mother of a 4-year-old is accused of dressing up in lingerie and having sex with the boy, then selling clips of the act on the “dark web” to pedophiles, according to police.
The Sun reports that the suspect, a Ukraine woman who remains unidentified to protect the boy’s identity, is accused of selling around 30 clips of the disturbing sex acts on dark web for around 3,000 Ukrainian hryvnia each, which equals around $110 each in the U.S. The 26-year-old also allegedly took numerous pornographic photos with her son and sold them as well.
After authorities caught wind of the woman’s alleged actions, they raided her apartment, where they confiscated her computer and other items of evidence. While being questioned by detectives, the woman reportedly admitted she had sex with her own son when she couldn’t find any other children to help with her “new job.”
“A young woman got in touch with me via email and offered me a job,” the suspect said, according to police. “I had to search online for children who would be willing to take part in porn shooting for money…I was supposed to film the children at their home while their parents are away or invite them to my place.”
“Also, I had to look for parents who would not mind to let their children be filmed in porn clips for money. Then she offered me to try it with my son saying that there is nothing to be afraid of and I agreed.”
A police spokesperson said the woman had been having sex with the 4-year-old for “a long time” before she was caught. Her previous job was reportedly in the adult porn business.
“Earlier the mother was earning a living by taking part in adult porn and selling it,” the police spokesperson said. “Then she was offered more money for filming and selling sexual intercourse with her son and agreed.”
The suspect was arrested and charged with production and distribution of pornographic materials, sexual corruption of minors, and rape. If convicted, she faces up to 10 years in prison.
The young boy was taken into state custody, where he’ll receive treatment and counseling for the abuse.
According to CSO, the dark web is a part of the Internet riddled with criminal activity that isn’t indexed by search engines. Numerous dark web sites consist of illegal activity, according to the outlet, including child pornography, illegal gun sales, hacked Netflix accounts, counterfeit money, and more.
