Authorities in Arizona are asking for the public’s help in locating a woman with Down syndrome who reportedly disappeared from the yard of her home last week.
According to KOLD, Sara Galloway, 38, was last seen outside her Picture Rocks home at around 7:30 a.m. on March 21. Days after she vanished, Pima County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Daniel Jelineo said they hadn’t received any viable leads regarding Galloway’s whereabouts.
Authorities said Galloway has Down syndrome and functions at an 8-year-old’s level. The Silver Alert for Galloway indicated that she may believe she’s wanted by the law and has limited interpersonal skills.

KGUN reported that the search has expanded to the desert, with authorities telling the news station that multiple agencies are involved. Local police said their search for Galloway is especially daunting due to the open terrain and because they don’t know Galloway’s motivation for leaving.
“We are desperately looking for her at this point, because the elements,” Jelineo commented. “The elements are not good at this time of the year.”
Her sister and brother-and-law said she didn’t have a history of taking off but fear her trusting nature may have played a role in her disappearance.
They said, “She’s gone and we can’t find her and we’re still looking, we’re not going to give up and we’re begging people to bring her home.”
