A preschool teacher in Colorado was arrested Monday for allegedly sexually assaulting a 4-year-old girl.
Citing police, KMGH reported that Sally Glaser, 63, was charged with sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust, sexual assault on a child, and unlawful sexual contact and child abuse. According to Leadville Herald Democrat, Glaser is a teacher at Center Early Childhood Programs in Lake County. The news outlet also reported that the victim is a 4-year-old girl.
While it’s unclear whether the victim attended the preschool Glaser worked at, KMGH identified the girl as a Lake County School District student. Moreover, KCNC noted that the preschool Glaser works for is the only one in the school district.
The Herald Democrat reported that Glaser has been employed by the Lake County School District for 25 years. The school district has placed her administrative leave in light of Monday’s arrest.
A letter sent home to parents reportedly stated that authorities charged Glaser following reports of her having inappropriate contact with a child. The letter also stated that the allegations were made on March 11, according to KCNC.
It’s not immediately known whether the alleged assault or assaults transpired on school grounds.
“This is a parent’s worst nightmare,” the victim’s mother wrote in a letter which was read during Tuesday’s court hearing.
“We live in constant fear.”
During the same hearing, Glaser denied the sex assault allegations against her.
“I’ve never done anything to hurt this little girl,” she said, according to the Herald Democrat. “This just tears me up.”
Glaser remains jailed on $25,000 bond. Her next court date is scheduled for April 18.
