Authorities in Arizona say a woman has been arrested on suspicion of killing two young twins this week at a residence in Tucson.
According to KNXV, 55-year-old Dorothy Flood was treated for an apparent drug overdose Thursday afternoon when emergency personnel from the Northwest Fire agency arrived at the home in response to reports of an unresponsive woman.
Upon arrival, Pima County Sheriff’s County deputies searched the premises near Kain Avenue and Ruthrauff Road at about 2 p.m. At that time, they reportedly found two 8-year-old victims identified as Flood’s grandsons Jaden and Jorden Webb.
The boys were discovered in two separate bedrooms inside the home.
Authorities indicated the twins’ mother died more than two years ago and Flood became their legal guardian, as reported by KPNX.
The two boys were pronounced dead of gunshot wounds on Friday and, after a visit to the hospital, Flood was booked into Pima County Adult Detention Complex where she remained behind bars without bond as of the latest updates available.
She is expected to face criminal charges including premeditated murder in the first degree and is set to appear in court late Friday.
