A distraught mother overseas is pleading for help finding her daughter who has been missing from Colorado for nearly a month.
Jepsy Amaga Kallungi, 24, has not been seen since March 20, and her husband reportedly told her mother that he doesn’t know where she went.
Kallungi’s mother Margie Amaga, who lived in the Hong Kong, told KOAA that her son-in-law was the last person to see her daughter, and that he said she may have traveled to visit friends — but that he wasn’t sure if she was in Mexico, Chicago, or the Philippines.
Kallungi is a native of the Philippines who moved to the United States in 2017 after meeting her now-husband online, and does not have family in the U.S.
The Colorado Springs police confirmed to KOAA that they are investigating the disappearance, but have not revealed any details about the investigation.
“I am so worried, and I cannot sleep. I cannot concentrate for work,” Amaga told KOAA.
“It’s really hard for me. It’s really painful for me, because I am very far. I cannot comfort here, and I don’t know where I find her. I don’t know. I’m only alone,” she said, reportedly adding that she is waiting on a visa to travel to the United States.
The mother told the news station that she was typically in regular contact with her daughter online, and became concerned a few days after March 20 when she stopped hearing from Kallungi.
“I just want to find as soon as possible my daughter. I need her, so I need someone to help me,” Amaga said.
Anyone with information is urged to call the Colorado Springs Police department at 719-444-7000.
