Authorities in Washington say a woman was arrested on suspicion of causing a hit-and-run collision while driving drunk with two small children in the vehicle.
According to KIRO, Kennewick police officers arrived on the scene of the crash near the intersection of North Irving Place and West Clearwater Avenue on Saturday.
“The driver of one vehicle, Dalia Rodriguez (24), left the scene and was followed by the second half involved to where officers contacted them,” the agency wrote in a statement posted to Facebook. “Two children were also in the vehicle with Rodriguez, but no injuries were reported or observed on parties involved.”
Police added that the suspect “exhibited signs of impairment” prior to her arrest. Rodriguez is expected to face criminal charges including driving under the influence, hit and run, and reckless endangerment.
She was reportedly booked into jail, but additional information was not immediately available.
No injuries were reported in connection with the collision.
