Authorities in Chicago are investigating the mysterious disappearances of three women in recent months; and two of those missing women are pregnant and now past their due dates.
According to People magazine, the Chicago Police Department is investigating the disappearances of women who went missing beginning in October of last year.
Kierra Coles, 27, went missing on October 2, when she was three months pregnant. Marlen Ochoa-Uriostegui, 19, who was nine months pregnant, vanished on April 23.
Chaunti Bryla, 43, went missing on March 14 from her home, according to WGN-TV. She is described as black with a light complexion, 5 feet 2 inches tall and about 200 pounds, and brown hair and brown eyes. She has an 11-year-old son, and her family reportedly said multiple ATM withdrawals at various locations had depleted her bank account.
According to the People magazine report, Ochoa-Uriostegui was last seen at Latino Youth Alternative High School, and did not show up to pick up her 3-year-old son from daycare as planned. She is Hispanic, 5 feet 3 inches, 125 pounds, with brown eyes, brown hair, and a nose ring. Her husband reportedly said he believes he may have been the last person to be in contact with her on the day she went missing, as he had been in continuous text communication with his wife throughout the day.
ABC 7 reports that Ochoa-Uriostegui’s family believes that a newborn baby found atop a trash can on Tuesday may belong to the missing young woman. The infant was alive with his umbilical cord still attached when a mother and daughter walking near 1700-block of North Keystone Avenue spotted him and brought him to a nearby fire station.
Ochoa-Uriostegui’s family is reportedly asking for authorities to perform a DNA test on the infant to determine if there is a biological connection to the missing mom.
Coles, a U.S. Postal Service employee, reportedly called in sick to work on October 2, but was seen on surveillance camera footage near her home, wearing her work uniform.
Coles is described as black, 5 feet 4 inches tall and about 125 pounds, and with two tattoos: A heart on her right hand and the phrase “Lucky Libra” on her back.
Anyone with information about any of these missing women is urged to call the Chicago Police Department’s Special Victim Unit at 312-747-8274.
