Neighbors in an Atlanta community are warning others that a strange man randomly peered into an unsuspecting woman’s window.
“It definitely makes me feel uncomfortable. We don’t always have our windows closed at night, and being so close to the street makes me a little bit worried,” Jaime Randle, who lives in the Midtown area of Atlanta told WSB-TV.
A stranger reportedly scaled a building and peeped into the woman’s second-floor bathroom. In another instance, a man off of Myrtle Street, around a block away from Randle, also spotted a strange man looking into a neighbor’s window.
Although it’s unclear whether the two cases were connected, police are now on the lookout for peeping Toms in the area. The Midtown Neighbors Association is also involved and keeping an eye on the neighborhood.
“It definitely surprises me. The area feels pretty safe,” Randle said
Meanwhile, residents in the area are locking all doors and closing their windows and blinds.
Earlier this year, a man in Roswell, 30-year-old Christian Garcia Castillo, was arrested on peeping Tom charges after he allegedly drilled a hole in the wall at an extended stay hotel. He allegedly spied on a woman in an adjacent room, even pushing his fingers through the hole and knocking down duct tape that was used to seal the hole up, according to 11Alive.
Police stress that if anyone feels they’re being watched or spied on to contact authorities immediately.
