Authorities in Pennsylvania say a series of upsetting explosions throughout Washington Township has ended with the arrest of a suspect this week.
According to WTVM, Jason Muzzicato was arrested on Friday after local, state and federal law enforcement officers surrounded his home with two search warrants. Investigators served one at his home and another at his business, according to reports.
Court records allege police found explosives and other weapons at his home, though police released few initial details.
“There was evidence obtained and secured which will be analyzed in the near future,” said Washington Township Police Department Chief Scott Miller, adding that he was not yet able to “reveal the contents of the evidence.”
A dozen explosions have rocked the community in recent months with three additional devices reportedly recovered similar to those used in the blasts.
Though no physical injuries were reported, one local resident described living in the area while the explosions remained ongoing.
“It wasn’t a very comfortable situation,” Kyle Ott said. “It’s very close to everyone’s home.”
One of the recovered devices that had not been detonated was in his own front yard, he said, describing it as covered in black paint with “a relatively long fuse.”
According to the Associated Press, investigators have not released a suspected motive in the case.
Miller said the suspect was “taken into custody by federal authorities” ahead of an arraignment on federal criminal counts.
