Authorities in Texas are looking for a male suspect who they said tried to force himself into a woman’s apartment and demanded money before shooting her multiple times and fleeing the scene.

KTRK reported that the unnamed victim was with her two kids Monday night when she was wounded at her Harris County home. The victim was said to have struggled with the assailant and called 911 herself after sustaining non-life-threatening injuries.

Citing deputies, the Houston Chronicle reported that the suspect is believed to have fled in a car and didn’t appear to steal anything. Reports indicated that the two children were unharmed.

Authorities haven’t provided a detailed description of the suspect but said their investigation is ongoing.
