A Texas woman who allegedly suffocated her 8-year-old son Sunday reportedly said demons told her to kill him as a sacrifice.
KXAS reported that Irving police responded to an unconscious person call arrested Tisha Sanchez, 30, after finding Joevani De La Pena dead at their home. Relatives reportedly told officers that Sanchez had suffocated De La Pena with a pillow.
Citing an arrest warrant, the news station reported that a relative claimed Sanchez said “demons told her to sacrifice her son” and “she needed to forgive her.”
KTVT reported that the deceased 8-year-old was found inside an RV located in the backyard. Further, Sanchez had also called police Sunday stating that she thought her son was dead, according to The Dallas Morning News.
Sanchez was charged with capital murder in addition to assault of a peace officer and resisting arrest for an unrelated incident. She remains jailed on $2 million bond.
