Authorities in Florida say a man has been arrested on suspicion of threatening the lives of his parents and slashing his father multiple times with a knife.
According to the New York Post, 33-year-old Amir Beg’s latest charges come just two months after he was accused of pulling a gun on his parents in a previous violent confrontation.
The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office issued a statement confirming deputies arrived at a home in Newberry on Sunday, at which time they determined a domestic dispute led to the violent act.
Art Forgey, a sheriff’s office spokesperson, said Beg “had a knife in his waistband and a couple other nives were located inside the home” when law enforcement arrived on the scene.
“They also found his father with multiple stab wounds,” he said.
After the most recent incident, Beg’s father was reportedly transported to an area hospital where he was admitted and listed in stable condition and had been apparently discharged as of Wednesday.
As for Beg, he was already free on bail in connection with the previous charges, which include aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery on a person over 65 years old. He remained behind bars with bond set at $1 million as of the latest updates available.
