The mother of family annihilator Chris Watts shared a letter he sent her from prison in an interview with HLN for an upcoming television special about the murders of Watts’ pregnant wife and two daughters.
Watts is serving multiple life sentences in a Wisconsin prison after pleading guilty to the murders of his wife Shanann Watts and their two daughters, 4-year-old Bella and 3-year-old Celeste.
According to People magazine, Cindy Watts reads a letter from her son in an interview for “Killer Dad: Chris Watts Speaks,” which is set to air on Saturday.
“I’m still a Dad! I’m still a son! No matter what,” Watts reportedly wrote in the letter.
“Now, I can add servant of God to that mix! He has shown me hope, peace, love and forgiveness, and that’s how I live every day.”
According to the Daily Mail, two women who regularly visit Watts in prison are also featured in the episode. One, identified as “Kate,” says in an interview that Chris “snapped” before murdering his family.
“When Chris talks to me about Shanann, he talks about how great she was and how much he loved her,” the woman says.
“Chris feels like he had a break in reality like he snapped, like he was demon-possessed.”
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Watts shared details of the brutal murders in a jailhouse interview with investigators in February, when he admitted that he drove his wife’s dead body from their home in Frederick, Colorado, to an oil field with his two young daughters in the car before smothering the girls to death and dropping their bodies into oil tanks.
“Killer Dad: Chris Watts Speaks” will air on Saturday July 13 at 8pm ET on HLN .
