Jeffrey Epstein was permitted to fly to his multimillion New York City townhouse — which is in close proximity to a school and a playground – while he was still serving his sentence on prostitution charges.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Epstein, who is now facing federal sex trafficking charges, pleaded guilty to prostitution in a widely-criticized plea agreement over a decade ago that followed allegations that he had sexually abused underage girls. Epstein, now 66, was given a light sentence of only 18 months in prison and was permitted to serve five months of that sentence on a work-release program in Florida. He was also required to register as a sex offender and remain on probation for one year.
The Daily Mail obtained court documents alleging that Epstein violated the terms of his probation and sex offender status by flying to New York City during the final seven months of his probation, and staying at his Upper East Side townhouse which is just 100 feet away from a playground and a school attended by one of his victims.

The document shows that a judge granted a motion submitted by Epstein’s lawyer Stephen Susman requesting that Epstein be permitted to fly to New York City to visit with his attorney, as there were documents pertaining to a lawsuit he was facing in New York that could only be viewed in the attorney’s office.
As noted by the Daily Mail, the motion would have been in violation of Epstein’s probation terms, which stated that Epstein could not be 1000 feet of any area where children congregated.
According to the report, it is not clear if authorities in New York knew that Epstein was visiting the city at that time. The agreement reportedly stipulated that Epstein could fly to New York and stay overnight at his townhouse as long as he gave his probation officer 48 hours notice. He was also reportedly permitted to travel via private jet.
Epstein is now in custody in Manhattan, and was denied bail as he is awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. As CrimeOnline previously reported, Epstein was found injured and in the fetal position in his jail cell earlier this week. According to multiple reports, Epstein had marks on his neck, but it is unclear how he was injured. He is reportedly in good condition now and remains in the jail.
