A mother in Texas was arrested early Sunday, accused of leaving her infant baby asleep in a running car as she drank alcohol in a nightclub.
KWTX reported that officers who responded to Trackside Night Club found the infant in a safety seat in the backseat of a car. Minutes later, officers reportedly located Samantha Grace Vaughan, 26, inside the club, and noted that she reeked of alcohol.
An affidavit charged that Vaughan admitted to having two shots after she drove to the club to get her husband and went inside to use the bathroom. Her blood alcohol was reportedly later found to be 0.148, nearly twice the legal limit.
Vaughan allegedly fought the officers, yelling and thrashing her body, as they took her into custody. The news station reported that she suffered a head laceration when she smashed her head into a steel bar in a squad car on two instances.
“You will not take my child and place her with a f**king n****r,” she allegedly uttered during her arrest.
Vaughan was charged with abandoning or endangering a child with intent to return. It’s not immediately known whether she remains jailed.
