Suspected teen killer goes on naked rampage after murdering baseball star’s baby son, wife & her mother: Police

Police say a man who went on a “naked rampage” Tuesday morning is responsible for the deaths of a Tampa Bay Rays pitching prospect’s wife, child, and mother-in-law.

CBS Pittsburgh reports that 18-year-old Matthew Thomas Bernard is charged with three counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of Blake Bivens’ family members. Bivens, 24, is a pitcher for the Tampa Bay Rays’ Minor League team, the Montgomery Biscuits.

According to police, Bernard, the brother of Bivens’ wife, carried out the gruesome killings inside a Pittsylvania County home in Virginia. Shortly after the killings, Bernard allegedly ran from the home naked and past a media stage area where reporters were filming. The bizarre incident was caught on camera as the naked suspect grabbed a church groundskeeper and tried to choke him.
