A Texas mom is facing charges after she crashed her car during an early morning chase with an off-duty officer. According to police, she had a 2-month-old baby inside the car.
ABC 13 reports that the incident happened early Wednesday after the woman, driving a black Honda Accord, crashed into the off-duty officer’s car in Houston. When the officer got out, the suspect sped away.
The officer followed the woman, and when she stopped at a traffic light, he got out again and attempted to show her his badge. She allegedly started driving toward him. The officer fired a gunshot at her vehicle but the suspect sped away again.
The ordeal ended when the woman crashed into two other vehicles after running a red light. Additional officers arrived at the scene and noticed the baby inside the car.
The baby is reportedly safe and with their father. The woman’s identity is unknown at this time.
