A Texas woman was reportedly killed early Sunday when she fell out of a moving car on the highway and was struck by a passing vehicle.
The Houston Chronicle reported that the unidentified woman was having an argument with her husband while en route home at around 1 a.m. Authorities said she was crawling out of the moving car on North Freeway in Houston when she suddenly fell out and was mowed down by another driver.
The other driver reportedly stopped to assist the mortally-injured woman, who paramedics pronounced dead at the scene. Citing investigators, KHOU reported that the woman was drunk when she was struck and killed.
KTRK reported that police said the woman’s husband had not been drinking prior to Sunday’s incident.
According to The Chronicle, a second accident occurred when someone struck a person who was trying to help the victim following the initial collision.
Though reports indicated that no arrests have been made in connection with the fatal accident, authorities allegedly detained another driver for driving under the influence.
