Missing Austin mother Heidi Brousssard is believed to be dead after her mother told NBC News that a body found at a Houston-area home late Thursday is believed to be her daughter’s.
According to the NBC News report, the body was found in the trunk of a car, while an infant believed to be Broussard’s newborn daughter was found alive in the home.
CBS Austin has confirmed that people are in custody after the discovery of the body. Multiple reports indicate that more than one person is in custody.
According to KTRK, a vehicle parked at the home was a primary focus of the search on Thursday. CBS Austin confirmed that the car, a grey Nissan, belongs to a friend of Broussard’s who was interviewed as part of the missing persons investigation.
The CBS Austin report indicates that a call from CPS may have prompted the search of the Harris County home. Broussard’s newborn daughter Margot was reportedly taken to the hospital for a medical examination.
