BREAKING: Houston high school student fatally shot at school; suspect still on the loose

The Bellaire High School student who was shot on Thursday has died, Click2Houston.com reports.

Authorities have not released the identity of the student or the suspect, who is still at large.

According to the report, police say this is not an active shooter situation.

The student was reportedly shot at about 4 p.m. local time, during seventh period.

A high school student in Houston is being treated for a gunshot wound and the suspected shooter is still on the loose.

KHOU reports that the student was shot at Bellaire High School on Tuesday and taken to Ben Taub Hospital.

The suspect is not in custody, and authorities have advised people who live near the school, which is at the corner of S Rice Avenue and Maple Street, so stay inside their homes and for others to avoid the area.

Authorities have not released the name of the victim and it is unclear how many shots were fired. The identity of the shooter is also not known.
