DEVELOPING NOW: Mother of police officer found dead in her bathtub; blood at scene, car missing

A woman was found dead in a bathtub in a Pennsylvania home and authorities are investigating her death as suspicious.

WPVI reports that the 64-year-old woman was found at about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday in a bathtub at her home on Mechanic Street in the Germantown area of northwest Philadelphia. The woman’s car was missing from the residence and blood was found at the scene, police confirmed to the news station.

The deceased woman is reportedly the mother of a Philadelphia police officer.

Authorities have not yet publicly identified the woman and it is not clear how the body was discovered.
