Authorities have issued an AMBER Alert for a baby boy who is missing after three women were shot to death at a South Miami-Dade home.
The Ledger reports that a concerned relative went to a home in the remote Redland area of South Miami-Dade where he found three women between the ages of 40 and 80 shot to death, and subsequently contacted police. Law enforcement sources told the newspaper that family members had not been able to reach the victims since late Tuesday morning; the women were found sometime later that day or night.
According to the report, police believe that 49-year-old Ernesto Caballeiro is the baby’s father and has the infant. They could be traveling in a white 2001 Chevrolet Express with Florida tags HETY13. A decal on the van’s back left door reportedly reads “Caution: Transporting Children.”
Caballeiro, who police said lived in the home where the women were found dead, is believed to be related to at least one of the murder victims; perhaps all of them.
Authorities reportedly believe the suspect has not traveled far from the area, because of items he left behind at the home.
Anyone who sees Caballeiro is urged not to approach him but to call 911 immediately.
