According to investigators, the unnamed victim died at some point overnight. The boy, who was a relative of the victim, was stopping by the man’s home to greet him before heading to school when he made the discovery.

Investigators said the victim likely died inside his home. It’s unclear why he was in the back yard, but the death is being treated as a homicide.

Sheriff Salazar with San Antonio PD said he didn’t believe that the man’s death was random. He also stated that he doesn’t think that the community is in danger.
