South Carolina authorities are investigating the death of a man, a mom, and her unborn baby after a Thursday night shooting in Belton.
According to FOX Carolina, 21-year-old Sabrina Lowery was 37 weeks pregnant when someone shot her in the stomach at her home off of Byron Circle. According to authorities, both Lowery and her baby died during emergency surgery following the incident.
A male found at the home, 33-year-old Tamell Nash, was also shot and killed. Police said that Nash didn’t live at the residence. At this time, it’s unclear how and if he was connected to Lowery.
“The male did not live at that address, the male was not a resident there. The female was,” Anderson County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. J.T. Foster said.
Family members told the outlet that Lowery is survived by a husband and two other children, ages one and three. Neighbors added that the family was “very nice people.”
Foster said that the deaths are being investigated as a homicide. So far, no suspects have been named.
“She was late in her pregnancy and it’s my understanding that the child would have been a viable life if it were to have been birthed without this traumatic injury,” Foster said.
