The sister of Lori Vallow’s former husband and the late father of missing 17-year-old Tylee Ryan appeared on the “Dr. Phil” show Thursday and talked about seeing a dramatic change in her former sister-in-law a year ago.
Tylee and her younger brother Joshua “JJ” Vallow have not been seen since September, and Vallow has refused to cooperate with the missing persons investigation. After fleeing her home in Rexburg, Idaho, and living in Hawaii for at least several weeks, Vallow was finally arrested last week on charges of child abandonment and will be extradited to Idaho.
Vallow was married to Joseph Ryan, Tylee’s father, until 2004 when the couple divorced. In 2018, Ryan died of a reported heart attack. Ryan’s sister Annie said on the “Dr. Phil” show that Vallow didn’t tell her or other family members about Ryan’s death for weeks. As CrimeOnline previously reported, the son of Vallow’s subsequent husband, Charles Vallow, said Lori waited 36 hours to let his sons know he had died — and shared the news in a callous text message, refusing to answer follow-up questions about the circumstances of his death.
Annie said that she saw a big change in Lori Vallow in 2018.
“She had this fixation on the end times,” Annie said on the show Thursday. Her comments are in line with what other relatives have claimed: That Vallow and her new husband Chad Daybell are involved in a so-called end-days religious group, possibly a cult.
Tylee’s aunt says she has no sense of what may have happened to the teenage girl.
“And it just feels like Tylee – like her dad – just slipped away.”
