A police officer in Arkansas was fatally shot Tuesday night while conducting a traffic stop.
KARK has identified the slain officer as Brent Scrimshire. The Hot Springs police officer, who had been with the department for six years, was shot at 6:30 p.m. while conducting a stop on the 100 block of Kentwood Street, according to a statement.
KARK reported that the suspect was also wounded. Authorities have declined to disclose the suspect’s identity or condition.
