An Ohio man was arrested on Sunday for allegedly sexually assaulting an 8-month-old infant.
In a statement posted to Facebook, the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office said Zachariah Wicker, 21, was arrested the same day they executed a search warrant at a residence in York Township. The warrant was reportedly part of an ongoing investigation into child abuse and child pornography.
Authorities haven’t disclosed the relationship between Wicker and the infant victim. It’s also unclear what led to the initial investigation.
Wicker, who was charged on Monday with statutory rape, remains jailed on a $1 million bond.
The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) assisted Mogan County police in their investigation.
